So basically, I'm a nut. Thank you, Captain Obvious...

All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

I think it would be best if I didn't dance at my wedding, as it will hopefully be a day for joy, as opposed to public humiliation. I'll do something else instead. I'm creative, I'll figure it out.

Your favourite saying?
Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying (Do Your Part To Save The Scene And Stop Going To Shows) - Fall Out Boy

That's pretty good.

Favourite place?
We Run This - (Stick It Edit) - Missy Elliot

...

What do you think of your parents?
Consider This - Anna Nalick

...

Where would you go on a first date?
Time Of Your Life - Green Day

That sounds promising.

Drug of choice?
So This is Christmas - John Lennon

So like, presents, maybe? Presents could be a drug. I could totally be addicted to presents.

Describe yourself:
Money - Josie And The Pussycats

Ha! And I was just packing...so, ok!

How will you die?
We Didn't Start The Fire - Billy Joel

Fuck! I don't want to die by fire! All your nerve endings like, explode, or something. It's true. There is no bribe of a miracle or anything like that. If you truly believe in gay rights, then repost this and title the post as "Gay Rights". If you don't believe in gay rights, then just ignore this. Thanks.

I think I'm going just a little bit crazy.

Allow me to preface this by saying that I really do like it here, and the campus is beautiful, and my classes are good, and I like the people, and I'm having fun.

However.

I'm kind of trapped. I mean, it isn't as if I can walk to the town. And, really, it's not a bad town. There's a Target. the Target has a Starbucks in it. There are nail places and a thrift shop and a little drive-through place with awesome milkshakes. It's a nice little town.

Except I can't get to it.

I mean, I know I could ask someone for a ride, and I seriously doubt I'd have any trouble finding one, but something about having to rely on the charity of those who are, if not strangers, at this point still mildly unfamiliar is unnerving. Hence the trapped feeling.

I miss my car.

If I had my car, then I could drive to the town. And figure it out. Get to know the area, get to know what's out there, probably find places that *haven't* decided that I'm in their target market and sent me a menu/sheet of coupons/etc./whatever. I could feel less like I'm in a little concret box, surrounded by other little concrete boxes, with small, mostly unnatractive (after three weeks) eating establishments and no other entrepreneurs to speak of.

But instead, I'm seriously rocking the cabin fever here.

Probably, that's why I've been so shopaholic with the online ordering lately. Which I have been. Hoping that through purchase of some memento of the outside world, everything would feel a little less... trapped. I mean, I'm not used to not being able to go where I want when I want. Which is stupid, because how long have I had my freaking car? Three months? Maybe?

I'm so spoiled.

But it's still sucky.

::tear::

Also, to the amusement of all, the other day my extremely awesome American Government teacher, when asked who Margaret Thatcher is, responded with "Kind of like Ronald Reagan in drag."

ROFL.

Stolen from, well, lots of people. If your're on my friends list and you've done this, then. hey. Feel like I stole it from you.

The Rules:
Bold all of the following TV shows which you've ever seen three or more episodes of in your lifetime. Apparently, it isn't olive skin that's been saving me all these years, it's my mother either supervising or actually performing the putting on of sunblock. It isn't that I haven't been putting any on myself, lately, it's just that apparently I suck at it. And now my face is sunburned. It hurts like a bitch, something I never really understood before. So to all those who burn easily, I now understand a little bit of your pain. At least when it turns to tan it'll look really good. Yay silver lining.

They drove it out from New Jersey, my mother put me on her insurance, D went to huge amounts of trouble to get it cleaned, and passing inspection, and it rocks SO MUCH.

I am insanely excited.

ETA: I also didn't mention that it was a surprise (2 days early) birthday car. I woke up, opened a bag and a card and a box, found the keys in the box, and looked out the window to see my car, filled with pink balloons with a bow on top. That was the coolest thing in life.

1) What color shoes are you wearing? If you're not wearing any, what color were the last pair of shoes you had on?

I am currently shoeless. However, the last shoes I was wearing were brown, with pink hearts printed on the soles (havaianas flip flops).

2) I'm gonna buy you an item that once belonged to a celebrity. Any item. I'll even steal it from the celeb if they won't give it up. Whatcha want?

A sixties Pan Am stewardess bag featured on Gilmore Girls two (probably) weeks ago. It. Was. So. Cute. So the specifically belonging to a celebrity thing is sketchier than maybe an optimal lack of sketchiness, but I think it qualifies. Plus? It. Was. So. Cute.

3) Three work-out songs that need to be on my MP3 player. Go.

Okay, I'm not really a work-out person, so if these suck, my apologies. It was way fun finding songs that (I hope) would be good, though.

Josie and the Pussycats - Money
http://beta.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=69274D1E2CB98949

Coldplay - Clocks - Dance Remix
http://beta.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=F42EDDDA162FD42F

Outkast - B.O.B. And to be a good person while you're doing it.

5) Let's go on Jerry Springer. What's our story gonna be?

I recently found out that you're my illegitimate (I'm one to talk) half-sister that my mother had as a teenager. I bring you on the show to break the news. The fine, fine folks at the Jerry Springer show also managed to locate and retrieve your actual father, who we find out is not only a coke dealer (who dips his hand in the pot from time to time), but is also in the pre-surgical stages of becoming a woman. His name is Bob, but he asks to be called 'Thelma'.

I can't make those parentheses go away. I'm sure it's blindingly simple. I'm also fairly sure I'll never figure it out. Oh well.

I am going to hell when I die...but I'll have company.

I read this article on CNN.com this morning, and it was ALL I could do not to burst out laughing.

Miss Deaf Texas struck by train, killed

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- The reigning Miss Deaf Texas died after being struck by a train, officials said.

Tara Rose McAvoy, 18, was walking Monday near railroad tracks when she was struck by a Union Pacific train, authorities said.

A witness told Austin television station KTBC the train sounded its horn right up until the accident occurred.

McAvoy, who had been deaf since birth, won the state title in June and represented the state "with dignity and pride," state pageant director Laura Loeb-Hill told The Associated Press via e-mail Monday night.

McAvoy was to represent Texas at the Miss Deaf America pageant this summer, Loeb-Hill said.

McAvoy graduated last year from the Texas School for the Deaf, attended Austin Community College and then started at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., in January, but had returned to Texas, Loeb-Hill said.

In addition, I emailed my mom the link to the article with the subject line 'I am going to hell when I die' and she emailed me back saying I would have company because they (she and her work friends) had just finished reading the same article and were laughing their asses off.

Then, this evening, I showed the article (I printed it out, I mean, how can you not?) to D, who, instead of doing the polite 'okay this is really funny but I have to pretend to feel bad for the dead girl first' thing, burst into hysterical laughter upon reading the title. This is why we keep her.

And, btw, yes this is really sad, and I feel bad for the girl, honestly, but... yeah.

Whee!

Ground rules: The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "Five Weird Habits of Yourself" and the people who get tagged need to then write a LJ entry about their five quirky little habits as well as state the rules of this game clearly. In the end, you need to list the next five people who you want to tag.

1. I am a pack rat. I am completely incapable of getting rid of anything. As a child, I would pick up rocks and small pieces of paper off the ground and "save" them by storing them in various places around the house. Now, I have a room which, besides being openly cluttered (to put it very lightly), also has a closet and large alcove filled with stuff at *least* three feet deep. Also, I can't delete anything off the TiVo. Seriously. I have X-Files episodes on there that were recorded in like July. And I'm fairly confident that there's stuff on there from 2004.

2. I am a water snob. I didn't *try* to be, it just kinda happened. I bought a bottle of Evian from the 7-11 on a whim, and now tap water tastes vile to me. And, things like Poland Spring and all the smaller water companies taste like tap water. This leads to me, during my lunch periods, walking to the King Kullen a block away and buying one and a half liter bottles of Fiji and Evian water. Which makes me freezing, and broke off my ass, but well hydrated.

3. I hate loud music. Seriously. Basically I hate loud *anything*, 'cause I'm like supersensitive to it or something. Like, when my grandmother comes to pick me up for things, I won't get into the car until she has turned her mucis down. It's ridiculous. And if I'm like somewhere with really loud music, I get a headache in like the first fifteen minutes. It blows.

4. I have to announce/narrate everything that I do. If I have to go to the bathroom, I say "I have to go to the bathroom." If I'm getting a soda, I say "I'm getting a soda." If I drop the remote, I say "I dropped the remote." I do this with *everything*. Or like, when I drive, I narrate every single thing I do. "Okay, I'm gonna turn... turning, turning....what are you doing, SUV guy, okay... pulling out on the road now... red light...stop..." You get the idea. Especially if I'm like three-point-turning or parallel parking or something. And I congratulate myself if I do a good job. "Good job, Danni!". Yeah. It's mostly 'cause I have no filter system between my brain and my mouth, so every thought I have just comes right on out without any forethought whatsoever.

5. I ramble.

I have completely lost track of who has been tagged already, and my fl is fairly small, so if you're on it, and you have yet to do this, consider yourself tagged. :)

-There are 9 days until Christmas.

-My college applications were due yesterday.

-I wrote half my college essay in one sitting, but when I tried to save it the computer froze and the computer had to be restarted. The essay is gone.

-Speaking of colleges, I only have two that I can even imagine myself going to, and I'm pretty confident one of them is going to reject me (there's no way in hell I'm getting in).

-I have contacted my school therapist about scheduling an appointment, which leads me to believe that I'm on crack.

-I am once again failing math.

-When I have a problem, I don't like to think about it.
Selections from the CNN.com transcript of the President's speech today.

"On September 11, 2001, our nation awoke to another sudden attack. In the space of just 102 minutes, more Americans were killed than we lost at Pearl Harbor."

Then,

"Like generations before us, we're taking the fight to those who attacked us and those who share their murderous vision for future attacks."

Um, no.
really really long, or at least longer than I saw coming

Thanksgiving was fun. Sort of. It had ups and downs. We went to out to New Jersey to D's moms house, which is usually like maybe a two hour drive? Or something like that. It took us a little longer, but considering it was Thanksgiving it wasn't all that bad, and all the traffic we hit we hit for the most part before we got to the Verrazano, so it was only like half the ride that was bad. Of course, since we took my grandmother with us, it was made more... interesting. For instance, my grandmother requested to sit in the backseat so that, and I quote, she wouldn't have to "watch my mother drive". Yeah. So she went in with an optimistic attitude, and that really helped. Of course, on the way there, D drove, which would have made a difference, except it wasn't really Mommy's driving that my grandmother was trying to avoid. It was anyone's but hers. However, while she is used to driving long distances, nobody really wanted my grandmother to drive. When you get into a car with her, you really take a chance, if you know what I mean. So, it was a question of sanity or safety, and we went with safety, despite my grandmothers' opening comment, "Are there even seat belts back here?" as soon as we got on the highway. So that was fun.

Once we arrived, though, everything was fine. It was nice to see D's family, the football wasn't completely mind-numbing (and, when it was over, we watched Operation Petticoat, which was an unexpectedly good movie), and the food was very good. I think the only low was when D's aunt was wondering why, when 90% of the country is Christian (my ass), can't stores and things in that vein just say 'Merry Christmas' instead of 'Happy Holidays'? That was... difficult, but I was proud of myself when I didn't start ranting about, you know, how insanely wrong that is. Especially since this was the same aunt who, during pre-election times last year, totally went off when I was talking about how much Bush sucks, when I had NO freaking clue she was a hard-core republican. And I was just sitting there like... what? 'Cause beyond the conservatism, she's actually really nice (she gave us advent calendars, which rocks). So keeping my mouth shut this time was a good.

Anyways, we left soon after dessert, which was yummy (cherry pie!) and the ride home was about as much fun, if not more, than the ride there, as Staten Island was predictably a bottomless pit of traffic in addition to all the other factors. But that was really to be expected. And then, when we finally all got home, we like passed out. Surprisingly.

Today was good, we were supposed to put up our Christmas tree but I was too damn lazy to clean the living room (which was the stipulation of said tree-putting-up) so we didn't. Yet. Hopefuly it'll all get done tomorrow, but who knows? This morning, I drove (that's right, drove! whee!) D and myself to the diner to get breakfast which was neat. I've literally been driving every-bloody-where that needs driving to, 'cause, fun! That brings me to the most interesting part of my day, when I went to the King Kullen a couple hours ago to get more diet coke (which we go through like water), there were some like 12-year old kids outside of it and they asked me if I could buy them beer! Usually, this wouldn't be exciting, but that means I look like I could be 21! Granted, it was dark and the kids probably were kinda desperate, but still! So that was an upper.

And now, I'm freezing my ass off, which I'm oddly okay with because I know that it's *crazy* cold out and that if it weren't for out new windows and siding, the cold would be so much worse in here. So, I freeze joyfully.

Also, just to mention it, The Veronicas freaking rock. I've downloaded practically their whole album in the past two days. This girl who I talk to in my gym class recommened that I listen to them, and she was So. Freaking. Right. They rule. Everyone should totally check them out.

Belated Happy Thanksgiving to all!

'Cause I have a drivers license! Whee! I can now drive! On my own! In a CAR! I know! I took my road test again yesterday and I think I got the same guy (I'm not really sure.. however if it was the same guy his nickname is no longer Old Fat Bastard) since the test was basically the same but this time, obviously, I screwed up WAY less. The one thing I did wrong was being too far away from the curb on the parallel park.. but who cares? How often am I gonna NEED to parallel park? Not f'ing often, that's for sure. This. Just. Rocks. Hopefully I can get someone to let me drive around in their car today, seriously just for the hell of it. Whee!

...Now all that's missing is a car ::coughmomcough::...

I *really* need to go, my cuticles are a mess.

4. The weirdest thing you've ever heated in the microwave?: Nothing weird, I guess, but I've burnt things. Most notably chocolate that I was trying to melt. It was all going okay until I took it out and it seemed to have solidified instead of melted. So, I figured putting it in for double the time would take care of it. Needless to say, it had actually been burnt, and when I walked bakc into the kitchen it was filled with smoke. So, I ran upstairs to get my mother (who was napping) while screaming "I set the microwave on fire!" at the top of my lungs. That was fun. Good times.

5. How much Japanese do you know: Absolutely none.

6. Do you look good in yellow?: God no. I'm fairly pale, and I also have an olive skin tone, so yellow generally makes me look sallow and sort of jaundiced. It's unfortunate.

7. Do you sing?: All the time, particularly in cars. This pisses D off to no end. Her take on singing in cars is (this was said while listening to a John Mellencamp song) "If John Mellencamp himself were sitting next to me right now and he started singing along, I would tell him to get the hell out of my car."

8. Do you spit?: An emphatic no.

9. Is your hair long enough to chew on?: Yup. I can't actually chew on it, though, 'cause it's usually straightened and if it gets wet it'd curl up.

10. Least favorite color?: Orange.

11. Ever had Dippin' Dots?: Of course! Dippin Dots *rocks*

12. Ever played an instrument?: Cello and Violin, when I was in elementary school.

13. Ever had a H2O massage?: Very much no. I for the most part cannot stand massages.

14. Do you believe in Big Foot?: To a degree.

15. Ever been to a palm reader?: No, but it would be fun. I've just never gotten the chance.

16. Last Pez dispenser you purchased?: I don't think I've ever actually purchased one, people get them for me. Ah, the beauty of being jobless and irresponsible. I don't remember what the last one I got was, though.

17. Have you had sex in your current car?: No. I don't even have a car.

18. Did you have a good weekend?: Yup! I accomplished little and practiced driving without killing anyone.

19. Current yearning?: New fall clothes!!

20. Have you ever had a black eye?: Once, when my mother inadvertently hit me in the face with a pink magic 8 ball. See, when she shouted "heads up!" I probably shouldn'tve actually looked up.

21. How is today going for you?: Alright.

22. Any plans for tonight?: Pilates at 5, and then homework and college application fun. It's sort of like oral surgery fun, only the oral surgey is better.

23. Ever photograph something that was dead?: Wow. Really really no.

24. Are you ready for Christmas?: Ha! ::dies laughing::

25. Ever given someone a Full-Body oil massage?: Nope.

26. Do you find Smurfette sexy?: Once again, really really no.

27. Current disappointment: The fact that I'm sure I totally bombed the SAT II History test.

MORE QUESTIONS!

1. Do you have an air freshner in your car?: Once again with the not having a car.

2. Do you have plants in your room?: We don't even have any plants in our house. Even our lawn is dead. If it doesn't make noise, it dies. This is also why we've never had fish, or hamsters, or guinea pigs, or any other silent animals.

3. If you could drink anything right this second, what would it be?: Something with some frickin' caffiene! I'm on stupid antibiotics that don't let you have any.

4. Last piece of mail opened: Letters from crappy yet solicitous colleges.

5. Does anything hurt on your body right now?: My head, because I'm probably dehydrated.

6. What city was your last taxi cab ride in?: New York.

7. Last alcoholic drink you had?: The wedding we went to where my mother kept giving me champagne and told me to, and I quote, "go see if the bartender will serve you". Our lives are different from other peoples.

8. If someone you hated died, would you laugh and spit on their grave?: God, no. No matter how much you hate a person, that is just so... low.

9. What were you doing at 9 pm last night?: Arguing with my mother about the living room and it's lakc of clean-ness, and then finally doing a *little* bit of cleaning and then watching Gilmore Girls. Last nights episode rocked the free world.

10. What's your favorite Starbucks drink?: Venti Sugar-Free Vanilla Latte. Yum.

11. Do you exercise as much as you should?: ::snort::

12. Did you do the deed on prom night?: Haven't been to prom.

13. Would you give your bf/gf a second chance if they cheated on you?: I doubt it. I have serious trust issues to begin with, so...
